This week began the new adventure for me. On Monday I started as the temporary fill in role for ACTS in taking care of the ACTS (short/long term volunteers). So Monday I was running around a whole bunch and learning things as well. What this job basically means is taking care of the vols in terms of driving/housing/food logistics. Basically I am driving them to their LivingHope work site and then picking them up, helping coordinate with the cook about grocery shopping, getting their laundry, and just making sure they are alright!! I think the week has gone well it is taking a little bit to get used to but hopefully everyone is happy! This work we also brought a whole lot of meetings which can be a fun thing and also a way to really have to look at balancing time! Monday I was fortunate enough to take one of the LSE team leaders to another club in another community for him to see how another area does club. I really want to do this more often because I think it is so important for everyone to know what everyone else is doing. Tuesday I was suppose to go to a all day training on substance abuse but that was canceled so plan B came into play for work! I ended up working on getting some supply quotes for supplies for kids clubs for 2010. Wednesday and Thursday were filled with meetings but they were really full of lots of good information. On Wednesday the LSE team leaders and Living Right management team sat in on a discussion group with a woman who is here with a team from the states working at Living Way. She however is a prosecution lawyer who specializes in children's rights and abuse. We had a great discussion because Living Right is in the middle of writing Child Protection Policies. Then all of the LSEs were at a meeting on Thursday with the same woman and we talked about forensic interviewing and setting boundaries in dealing with kids. We had some great discussion time afterwards. I then did a 15 quick curriculum lesson to catch up because of having weeks off and other trainings. Then we had Volunteer Bible Study last night. The vols used to have Bible Study and now we are starting it again and so we eat dinner together and then Pat is leading us through a series on Joseph and last night was great. We sat around and had great discussion as we talked about Joseph's family. I am looking forward to Thursday nights and having a indepth Bible study!! Today consisted of our Friday LSE training again. I have so missed them and so we are now back. It was a interesting time.......all of the LSEs had not been together for like a month on our normal Friday time and so it was a little rowdy at first and then of course I did a no no I gave them candy!!!! :) It turned out to be a good time but I could tell they were having some it is spring and the weather is nice moments as I was to....I wanted to be at the beach!!! Now I am spending the evening sitting at the team house helping out with the team that is there as well as there is a group of 22 pastor's wives having a retreat at the house this weekend. It should be quite interesting!
